“From October 22 to 27, Cologne-based artist Vera Drebusch investigated the Irish fishing industry in the waters of Carlingford Lough on both sides of the border dividing the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. While fishing rights have been a big issue in the Brexit discussion, local seafood companies do business with the whole of Ireland as well as around the globe. Marine animals obviously pay no attention to boundaries determined by humans.”

“Vom 22. bis 27. Oktober untersuchte die Kölner Künstlerin Vera Drebusch auf beiden Seiten der irischen Grenze die irische Fischindustrie rund um den Carlingford Lough. Während die Fischereirechte in der Brexit-Diskussion ein großes Thema waren, machen die lokalen Fischereibetriebe Geschäfte mit ganz Irland und handeln rund um den Globus. Wohingegen Meerestiere sich offensichtlich nicht für vom Menschen verursachte Grenzen interessieren.”
